What a fall

It's been a great fall for DWU baseball. More than 50 student-athletes are playing baseball for the Tigers - and playing it with passion, desire, teamwork, and unselfishness. The team is a close-knit bunch that just wants to play the game the right way. I give a lot of the credit to the upperclassment. They have picked up the pace lately and have demanded excellence. The seniors and juniors have made sure that we play the game with sense of urgency, a will to win, if you will. In short, the team has gotten after it. Key injuries, inclement weather, and long days have not detoured the players. They have stayed together, fought hard and came together as a team. And it's not just our older guys. A great group of freshmen have dawned the blue and white. To say they are special would be an understatement. Combined with our sophomores, our freshmen have really come together. Don't get me wrong, the team has a lot of work ahead of it. We need to pitch, play defense and hit at a more consistent level. However, if we keep our winning atttiude, good things will continue to happen for this team. Let's hope it does.
