The DWU baseball team will take an extended spring trip to Arizona this season. After the collapse of the Metrodome forced the Tiger baseball team to cancel their first eight games this season, the team will now travel to Phoenix for 11 days.
The Tigers will fly from Omaha to Phoenix March 3 through March 14. While south, DWU willl play 16 games against strong NAIA competition. The team will fly out of Omaha on Flight 86 in the early morning hours of March 4 and return back to Omaha at 11:19 p.m. on Flight 517 March 14.
The Tigers will play the majority of their games in the Phoenix area with four games scheduled in Tucson. DWU games begin March 5 with their last game scheduled for March 14. Sunday, March 13 is the only day off from games.
The team will stay at the Quality Inn & Suites located in Mesa, AZ. The hotel is offering parents and fans a special rate of $89.99/night for a king or two doubles. Call (480) 964-2897 for reservations.
We're excited for our southern trip. It will be a great way for our team to bond, improve and represent Dakota Wesleyan University in a positive manner. We hope to see you there!
